Get Tested and Wrap it up!

The other day, a facebook friend of mine stated, "Thank God, I'm STD free, get tested!" A very good and true statement, my only addage to that is: If you aren't going to practice abstenance, then wrap it up!

Sadly, single people are not the only ones who have to deal with practicing safe sex. Some married people have to deal with this as well. A lot of our elders who have suddenly become single again, figure, "Oh, I can't get pregnant, so I don't need a condom", not true!

Below is a poem that I wrote a few years ago, about AIDS Awareness

Life Support

I know she's tired of taking all those pills a day.



Everyday. But She's on life support.



Yeah, you gave her life, but, you also took life from her.



You gave this beautiful sista HIV, at the same time you gave her a beautiful babygirl.



She said, "Boo, I'm pregnant"



Your arrogant self had the nerve to tell her "congratulations, when is you & your man's baby due."



Knowing good & well, that she was a young virgin when you met her.



She looks up at you, tears running down her face, she says, "I'm also HIV positive, carrying your baby. You promised me that my first time would be special, but, I never thought that my first time would also be my death sentence.

But thanks to you, I'm on Life support!"
